Now that's refreshing

Many of our great friends have come to see Ethan. They have been a source of great refreshment to our souls, no matter how brief their visit.

Casey and Steph Cease were the first - and brought with them their infectious sense of humor, which was much needed after many sleepless nights. They spent hours with us - giving us hope and a lighthearted spirit, and sharing my first glass of wine in 9 months!

Then, though sadly with no picture to prove it, Mike and Catherine Haskew stopped by while in town recently. We have connected more with them since leaving Sugar Land, which made seeing them and their visit that much sweeter.

Just this past weekend Christy, Ryan, Luke, Julie and Diego were in town and we spent the entire Saturday afternoon at Phil's hamburgers doing what we do together - talkin' and laughin'. We've known them since 2000, before we were all married, and the easiness and unpretentiousness in which we interact makes for a very relaxing afternoon. For a few minutes after leaving their company, we missed living in Sugar Land.

We feel like some of the luckiest people. We have many life long friends living elsewhere - and we have the opportunity to make more here in Austin. People that knew us as individuals first and others that only know us as a couple now. All brought together to bring joy to our lives and to continue to point us toward Christ. Now that's refreshing.
