Weekend Warrior

We have been aware for a while now that the front wood part of our house was rotted at the bottom. An effect of having prickly bushes directly in front and touching it for 20 + years. A few years ago, with the help of Ryan and his truck, we pulled those suckers up, only to see the rotting. Well, moving lit a fire under us and we knew we had to do the repair to pass inspection. Our friend Chris came over to advise, and oh did he ever. His advise - strip it back to the studs and completely redo, otherwise it won't pass inspection. So, sure why not?

We borrowed his tools and got to work Saturday afternoon at 4pm. We worked until 9:30pm. Yes, in the dark with our headlights on and a shop light attempting to light our entire front yard. Thanks to Rob and Morgan who came down to make fun of us - Rob was wearing his headlamp. :) Our goal: completely tear down and rebuild the front using Hardiplank siding by the end of the day. The main reason - we didn't know if we would get in trouble with the homeowner's association because we didn't get approval to make such repairs. We later found out it isn't necessary in this case.
This is in the middle of demo. I forgot to take pictures of the in between. We went to HFBC Sunday morning to see Brian, Phil's brother, play in the band and then raced home. We went back to work from 12:30 - 6, non-stop and here is the finished result.

Now that's curb appeal.

It DOES look great! It reminds me of all the home improvement projects we have been avoiding...we are experts at procrastination!

Well done guys!

I am impressed, too. Can you come do both entire sides of our house (and a garage)? You wouldn't believe the quotes we've gotten! Looks great! I'd buy it!
